Apple Watch

Kan Do for Apple Watch is included with the iPhone app. It shows your lists and boards, lets you check tasks off, and adds new tasks by typing, dictating, or asking Siri. Everything syncs through iCloud, so the Watch works on its own, without the phone nearby.

#The main screen

Open the app on the Watch:

1. A New Task button at the top.
2. Inbox, Today, Upcoming, and Flagged with counts. (The Calendar isn't on the Watch.)
3. A Browse section listing every space, and every project that isn't in a space.

Tap a list to see its tasks. Tap a space, then a project, then a column to see that column's tasks. Tap a task's circle to complete it. An empty list reads "All clear."

#Adding a task

Tap New Task:

• Task title: type, scribble, or dictate.
• Location: defaults to Inbox. Tap it to pick a project and column instead; the picker lists Inbox, projects without a space, then each space as its own section. If a column you picked earlier no longer exists it reads "Unavailable".
• Tap Add Task.

The task is saved to the Watch's own store and syncs to your other devices through iCloud.

#Siri on the Watch

"Add a task to Kan Do" and the other Add Task phrases work on the wrist. Siri asks for the title and creates the task in the Inbox.

#Shortcuts on the Watch

Shortcuts only runs an action on the Watch when the Watch app itself provides it, and Kan Do's does. The Add Task action on the Watch takes a title, subtitle, project, column, due date and time, Alert Until Done, Remind Every, priority, flag, link, and note, and returns the created task. Build a shortcut on your iPhone, allow it on the Watch, and run it from the Shortcuts app or a complication.

#Complications

Two complications, each in Circular, Corner, Inline, and Rectangular:

• Open Kan Do opens the app from the watch face.
• New Task opens the app ready to add a task to the Inbox.

Add them from the watch face editor on the Watch or in the Watch app on iPhone.

#What it doesn't do

• No editing tasks beyond completing them
• No notes, tags, or calendar
• No cover images

#If the Watch shows "Data Unavailable"

The Watch couldn't open its local data. Reopen the app; no changes were made. If a saved task fails with "Kan Do couldn't add the task", try again, and if it says the location is no longer available, pick another column.
